Paid services: website security reports
The site offers an automated website security check. A free scan returns a summary grade and category scores for a domain you enter. A paid “full report” (priced at the amount shown at checkout, currently 49 USD) unlocks the complete list of findings for that domain, together with the evidence behind each result and step-by-step remediation guidance. These paid services are provided by Greywatch IT LTD.
Authorisation to scan
By submitting a domain to be scanned, you warrant that you own that domain or are authorised by its owner to have it scanned. Our scan is passive and requests only resources that the website already makes publicly available; even so, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to request a scan. You must not submit a domain you neither own nor are authorised to assess.
Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record and reseller for the transaction. Stripe collects payment, applies any sales tax, VAT, or GST due, and issues the tax receipt. The price is shown before you pay; where applicable taxes are not included in the displayed price, they are added at checkout. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these terms.
Digital delivery and your right to cancel
The full report is digital content that is supplied to you immediately after payment: the report is unlocked and a private access link is provided at once. By purchasing, you expressly request and consent to the immediate supply of the report, and you acknowledge that you will thereby lose the statutory right to cancel (the 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and equivalent rights under EU consumer law) once delivery has begun. Because the report is delivered to you in full at the moment of purchase, that cancellation right does not apply after you have paid.
Refunds
Because the report is delivered immediately, purchases are non-refundable once the report has been unlocked. If a technical fault on our side prevents the report from being delivered or accessed, contact [email protected] and we will re-deliver it or, if we cannot, refund you. Nothing here removes any right you have under law that cannot be excluded.
Nature of the report
The report describes configuration that is observable from outside your website at the time of the scan. It cannot see your source code, plugins, passwords, or backups, and a good grade is not a guarantee that your site is secure. The report is provided for information only. It is not a penetration test, a compliance certification, or professional security advice, and you are responsible for deciding what action to take on the basis of it.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ransomnews and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the site, including loss of data or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
